Bí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ bá sì mú ọ kọsẹ̀, gé é sọnù, ó sàn kí ó di akesẹ̀, kí o sì gbé títí ayé àìnípẹ̀kun ju kí o ní ẹsẹ̀ méjì tí ó gbé ọ lọ sí ọ̀run àpáàdì.

And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.

47 Bí ojú rẹ bá sì mú ọ kọsẹ̀, yọ ọ́ sọnù, ó sàn kí o wọ ìjọba Ọlọ́run pẹ̀lú ojú kan ju kí ó ní ojú méjì kí ó sì lọ sínú iná ọ̀run àpáàdì.
