10 Mas se um homem caminha de noite, ele tropeça, porque a luz não está dentro dele”.

11 Ele disse estas coisas, e depois disso, disse-lhes: “Nosso amigo Lázaro adormeceu, mas eu vou para que eu possa despertá-lo do sono”.

12 Portanto, os discípulos disseram: “Senhor, se ele adormeceu, ele se recuperará”.

13 Agora Jesus havia falado de sua morte, mas eles pensavam que ele falava em descansar durante o sono.

14 Então Jesus lhes disse claramente: “Lázaro está morto”.

15 Fico feliz por vocês que eu não estava lá, para que vocês possam acreditar. No entanto, vamos até ele”.

16 Tomé, portanto, que se chama Didymus, disse a seus companheiros discípulos: “Vamos também, para que possamos morrer com ele”.
