For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
For John came to you in a righteous way and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

33 Udite un’altra parabola: Vi era un padron di casa, il quale piantò una vigna e le fece attorno una siepe, e vi scavò un luogo da spremer l’uva, e vi edificò una torre; poi l’allogò a de’ lavoratori, e se n’andò in viaggio.
34 Or quando fu vicina la stagione de’ frutti, mandò i suoi servitori dai lavoratori per ricevere i frutti della vigna.
35 Ma i lavoratori, presi i servitori, uno ne batterono, uno ne uccisero, e un altro ne lapidarono.
