And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked. “Yes,” Jesus answered. “Have you never read: ‘From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise’?”
and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Did you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of children and nursing babies, you have perfected praise’?”

15 Ma i capi sacerdoti e gli scribi, vedute le maraviglie che avea fatte, e i fanciulli che gridavano nel tempio: Osanna al figliuol di Davide, ne furono indignati, e gli dissero: Odi tu quel che dicono costoro?
16 E Gesù disse loro: Sì. Non avete mai letto: Dalla bocca de’ fanciulli e de’ lattanti hai tratto lode?
17 E, lasciatili, se ne andò fuor della città a Betania, dove albergò.
18 E la mattina, tornando in città, ebbe fame.
19 E vedendo un fico sulla strada, gli si accostò, ma non vi trovò altro che delle foglie; e gli disse: Mai più in eterno non nasca frutto da te. E subito il fico si seccò.
