Bí Jesu ti rí i ní ìdùbúlẹ̀, tí ó sì mọ̀ pé ó pẹ́ tí ó ti wà bẹ́ẹ̀, ó wí fún un pé, “Ìwọ fẹ́ kí a mú ọ láradá bí?”

When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
When Jesus saw him lying there and realized that he had spent a long time in this condition, He asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”

8 Jesu wí fún un pé, “Dìde, gbé àkéte rẹ, kí o sì máa rìn.”
9 Lọ́gán, a sì mú ọkùnrin náà láradá, ó sì gbé àkéte rẹ̀, ó sì ń rìn. Ọjọ́ náà sì jẹ́ ọjọ́ ìsinmi.
