And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
At once the girl hurried back to the king with her request: “I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter immediately.”
She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

22 Quando a própria filha de Herodíades entrou e dançou, ela agradou a Herodes e aos que estavam sentados com ele. O rei disse à jovem: “Pergunte-me o que você quiser, e eu lhe darei”.
23 Ele jurou-lhe: “Tudo o que me pedirdes, eu vos darei, até a metade do meu reino”.
24 Ela saiu e disse a sua mãe: “O que devo perguntar”? Ela disse: “A cabeça de João Batista”.
25 Ela chegou imediatamente com pressa ao rei e pediu: “Quero que me dê agora mesmo a cabeça de João Batista em uma bandeja”.
26 O rei estava extremamente arrependido, mas por causa de seus juramentos e de seus convidados para o jantar, ele não desejava recusá-la.
27 Imediatamente o rei enviou um soldado de sua guarda e mandou trazer a cabeça de João; e ele foi e o decapitou na prisão,
28 e trouxe sua cabeça numa bandeja, e a deu à jovem senhora; e a jovem senhora a deu à mãe.
