And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
Paul looked directly at the Sanhedrin and said, “Brothers, I have conducted myself before God in all good conscience to this day.”
Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, “Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”

2 Der Hohepriester aber, Ananias, befahl denen, die um ihn standen, daß sie ihm aufs Maul schlügen.
3 Da sprach Paulus zu ihm: Gott wird dich schlagen, du getünchte Wand! Sitzt du, mich zu richten nach dem Gesetz, und heißt mich schlagen wider das Gesetz?
4 Die aber umherstanden sprachen: Schiltst du den Hohenpriester Gottes?
