Plain dealing

What this app cannot do

Every app has these. Most hide them. Here they are, with what was built instead — because a promise you can check is worth more than a feature list you cannot.

1. The NIV, ESV, NKJV and NASB

Why not: Those four translations are owned. Publishers licence them per copy, per country, with a fee and a contract, and no free app on earth may simply include them.

What was built instead: The complete King James Version offline — plus the Hebrew and Greek underneath every word of it, with Strong's numbers and the full lexicon. That is something most paid apps charge for, and it is here because the 1890 lexicon and the 1611 text belong to everybody.

2. Live streams

Why not: A stream needs a camera, a person, a monthly bill and a company keeping a record of who watched what.

What was built instead: Pray together — four fixed hours, the same words, everywhere on earth, on nothing but the clock your phone already has. It is what the church actually did for three centuries.

3. Home screen and lock screen widgets

Why not: Only an app installed from a store can draw a widget, and a store account costs money every year.

What was built instead: A lock screen verse you save as a picture and set as your wallpaper — the same result, needing nothing running — plus home screen shortcuts straight into Today, Prayer, the Morning Watch and Search.

4. A chat that answers anything

Why not: An AI that answers freely typed questions runs on somebody's server, which means your prayers and your worst night leave your phone and land on a machine you do not own. That is the one thing this app promised never to do.

What was built instead: Answers — real questions answered from Scripture, every verse quoted in full and checked word for word, searchable, working with the signal off, and saying plainly where Christians honestly differ instead of inventing a confident answer.

5. Automatic sync between your devices

Why not: Sync needs a server holding your diary and your prayer requests. Same objection, and a bill this project does not have.

What was built instead: One file, encrypted on your phone with AES-256 before it moves, that you put in any cloud drive you already trust and restore on the new phone. Your devices end up in step and nobody in the middle — including us — can read a word of it.

6. A shared community feed

Why not: Everyone seeing one feed means a server holding other people's prayer requests, and moderating them.

What was built instead: Everything written stays on your own device, and Share sends any post out to wherever your people already are. When there is a way to run a feed without holding anyone's private words, it connects, and nothing written is lost.

7. A verified list of sound churches

Why not: Nobody can honestly certify what is preached in a hundred thousand buildings, and an app that pretended to would be lying to the people it is trying to protect.

What was built instead: A live search of the world's open map for churches near any place on earth, the families of churches described factually, questions from Acts 17:11 to take into any of them, and plain reasons to leave one.

8. The whole Bible in every language on earth

Why not: Complete Bibles are here in world and local languages, but not yet in every language there is — each translation has to be obtained and licensed properly, one at a time, and doing it badly would be worse than not doing it.

What was built instead: Every screen in the language of your choice, more through on-device translation, the whole Bible in every freely-licensed translation found so far, and an open request for help: if you know of a freely-licensed Bible in your language, or can translate, that is the fastest way this gets fixed.

Let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
