Prayer 2 of 35 · Psalm 11:1–7
David is advised to run — 'flee as a bird to your mountain.' He refuses, for a reason that has nothing to do with his own strength: 'The LORD is in his holy temple.' The situation has not changed; the vantage point has.
Mighty God, whose throne is in heaven and whose eyes behold the children of men, I take refuge in You and refuse to flee. Turn away from me every evil purpose and every persecution of wicked persons, whether spoken openly or arranged in secret. Let the arrow bent in darkness against the upright in heart find no target in me. Let the counsel of the wicked against me come to nothing. I ask this not for my worthiness but for the sake of the holy name of Jesus Christ, in whom I stand. Amen.
Morning and night for seven days when under sustained attack.
