Prayer 20 of 35 · Psalm 67:1–7
For God's Blessing and Wisdom
Seven verses, and the reason for the blessing is stated in the second: 'God be merciful unto us, and bless us... THAT thy way may be known upon earth.' The blessing is not the destination. It is the vehicle. The best psalm in the book for correcting a prosperity mindset without denying that God blesses.
God, be merciful unto me and bless me, and cause Your face to shine upon me — that Your way may be known upon the earth and Your saving health among all nations. Give me wisdom for the decisions in front of me, and the humility to take counsel. Let the earth yield her increase to my hands, and let what You put in my hands feed somebody else. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy. Bless me, God, and let all the ends of the earth fear You because of what You did in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
- I declare God's face shines upon me and His blessing rests on the work of my hands.
- I declare I am blessed so that His way may be known through my life.
- I declare wisdom is given to me generously, and I do not lack it.
Each morning, and before every significant decision.
