Prayer 28 of 35 · Psalm 37:25 · Psalm 112:1–9 · Deuteronomy 8:18
'I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken.' Psalm 112 describes the person whose house holds wealth and who 'hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor' — provision and generosity in the same frame, which is the only way either stays healthy.
Father, You give power to get wealth, that You may establish Your covenant. I confess every place I have mismanaged what You gave me. Give me wisdom with money, discipline with spending, and a plan I can keep. Break the weight of this debt; let the payments I cannot see a way to make be made. Let me be a lender and not a borrower. And let what You increase in my hands reach the poor before it reaches my comfort. In Jesus' name. Amen.
