Prayer 30 of 35 · Psalm 126:1–6 · Luke 15:11–24
'They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.' The psalm is honest that the sowing season is tearful and long. The father in Luke 15 did not chase his son into the far country; he watched the road. This is for the road-watchers.
Father, I bring You the one I cannot reach. I have said everything I know how to say, and I lay it down. Go where I cannot go. Let the far country lose its taste. Send someone they will actually listen to, since it is no longer me. Keep them alive and keep them findable. Turn again my captivity as the streams in the south — let the one who went out weeping come home rejoicing. I sow in tears today and I will reap in joy. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Daily — and stop rehearsing the fear in between.
