Prayer 26 of 35 · Psalm 127:1–5 · Ecclesiastes 4:9–12
'Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.' Most marriage repair fails because two exhausted people try to rebuild in their own strength. This psalm relocates the builder.
Lord, except You build this house we labour in vain, and we have been labouring in vain. Take the hammer out of our hands. Soften what has hardened between us, and give us back the words we have stopped saying. Break every pattern we inherited and never chose. Let the threefold cord — him, her, and You — not be quickly broken. Restore us, and let our children see it happen. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Together if possible, aloud, nightly.
