Prayer 12 of 35 · Psalm 23:1–6
The most-known psalm in the world opens with a claim about supply: 'I shall not want.' Theft is not only the loss of a thing — it is the fear that it cannot be replaced. Verse 5 is the answer to being targeted: a table prepared in the presence of mine enemies. Not after they leave. In front of them.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. Guard what You have entrusted to me — my home, my vehicle, my tools, my labour, and everything my hands have worked for. Let no thief find an entrance, and let nothing be taken from me in secret. Where something has already been taken, restore it, and let the restoration be greater than the theft. Prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, and let my cup run over where they can see it. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
