Prayer 1 of 35 · Psalm 134:1–3 · Psalm 119:9–16
A Student's Prayer for Success
Psalm 134 is a blessing spoken over those who serve God through the night watch — every student knows that watch. Psalm 119 answers the question a young person carries: how does someone my age keep their way clean? Not willpower. Treasured word.
O merciful Father, make my mind Your dwelling place. Give me wisdom and the will to pursue my studies with vigour, and a memory that holds what I am taught. Guard me from every design of those who would see me fail. Let Your favour rest so visibly on my work that doors open which I did not knock on — scholarships, mentors, and opportunity for the furtherance of my education. Order my steps toward the place You have prepared for me. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
- I declare that my mind is the dwelling place of God, and I have the mind of Christ.
- I declare that what I study, I retain, and what I retain, I can call upon.
- I declare that favour goes before me into every examination hall and every interview room.
Each morning of a study season, and once more before you enter the hall.
