Conflict, a leader who has failed, or a congregation splitting
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psalm 133:1 · King James Version
Father, this is Your house and it is not well. I am grieved, and I am also angry, and I need You to sort out which is which in me.
How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.
Psalm 133:1
Restore unity where it can be restored. Let this not end in a split that scars people for a decade.
Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness.
1 Corinthians 4:5
Bring hidden things to light in Your time and Your way. Keep me from being the one who forces it out of anger.
Ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Galatians 6:1
If there is restoration to be done, let it be done gently, and let me remember I am not above falling.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you.
Ephesians 4:31
Take the bitterness out of me before it takes root and outlives the problem.
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls.
Hebrews 13:17
Give my leaders wisdom, and give me the right posture — neither blind nor rebellious.
Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18
Your church will stand. This congregation is not the whole of it, and You are not finished.
Say these out loud. Not to convince God — to remind yourself what is true when your feelings are arguing.
Father, if I am part of the problem, show me before I go looking at anyone else.
