Prayer points
A parent, a child, a spouse, a friend
Be not afraid, only believe.
Mark 5:36 · King James Version
Lord, I would take this from them if I could, and I cannot. So I bring them to You, the way the four men brought their friend through the roof.
They uncovered the roof where he was... they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
Mark 2:4
I am carrying them to You because they may be too weak to carry themselves. Let my faith stand in for theirs today.
Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
John 11:3
Lord — the one You love is sick. That is my whole prayer. You know the name.
The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
Psalm 41:3
Be in the room when I cannot be. Be there at three in the morning when the ward is quiet and they are afraid.
Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him... and the prayer of faith shall save the sick.
James 5:14-15
Send them people. Elders, friends, a nurse with a kind face. Do not let them be alone in this.
They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31
Renew my strength too. Caring for them is emptying me and I have not admitted it to anyone.
Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
Psalm 56:8
You have counted every tear I have cried over this. None of it has been wasted on You.
Say these out loud. Not to convince God — to remind yourself what is true when your feelings are arguing.
Father, give me the grace to keep praying even when nothing changes, and the grace to accept it if the answer is not the one I want.
