It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22–23 · KJV
Consider where this sentence sits. It is in Lamentations — a book of grief over a ruined city, written by a man watching everything he loved destroyed. The most quoted line about God's faithfulness was written by someone with every reason to say the opposite.
That is what makes it usable. This is not optimism from a comfortable place. It is a man doing the arithmetic in the rubble and concluding that the only reason anything is left standing, including him, is mercy.
'New every morning' means yesterday's supply was never meant to cover today. If you are running on a word God gave you three years ago and wondering why it feels thin, that is not a failure of the word. There is fresh provision, and it has today's date on it.
Before you check any screen tomorrow morning, say out loud: 'His mercies are new this morning.' Do it before you feel it.
