He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Psalm 23:3 · KJV
David does not write 'He restored' or 'He will restore.' He writes it in the ongoing present, as something happening continually, which tells you something uncomfortable: the soul needs restoring more than once.
You are not broken because you need this again. Sheep are not scolded for needing to be led to water repeatedly. Repetition is the design, not the failure.
And the reason given is startling. He leads in paths of righteousness not for your reputation, not even primarily for your benefit, but for His name's sake. Your restoration is tied to His character, which means it does not depend on your performance being impressive enough to justify it.
Name the specific thing that has drained you. Bring that one thing — not a general request — to God, out loud, today.
