Someone I love has died.

You are permitted to grieve, hard and for a long time. Jesus wept at a grave He was about to empty, which settles for ever whether tears show a lack of faith. Christians grieve differently from those with no hope, but we do grieve. Do not let anyone rush you through it, do not make big decisions this year if you can avoid it, eat and sleep, and let people carry things for you. The hope is not that the loss is small; it is that it is not final.

Psalm 34:18
