My child has walked away from God.

The father in the story did two things and neither was chasing: he let the son go, and he watched the road. Keep the door open and the relationship alive — many come back to a home they were never cut off from and very few come back to an argument. Pray by name daily, refuse to fund the destruction, and stay warm. You are not the Holy Spirit and you were never meant to be.
