Scripture is calm and practical about money. Owe no one anything you can avoid owing; pay what you owe rather than what is comfortable; tell the truth to those you owe rather than hiding. Make a plan on paper — it is a proverb, not just accounting, that you should know the state of your flocks. And do not let shame keep you from asking your church for help; that is one of the things a church is for.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Romans 13:8
The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Proverbs 22:7
Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
Proverbs 27:23
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5
