How should I treat difficult parents?
Honour is commanded and it does not expire when you grow up, but honour is not the same as obedience and it is not the same as unlimited access. You can provide for, speak well of, and care for a parent while still declining to be harmed by them. Jesus arranged care for His mother from the cross; He also refused to let family pressure divert Him from obedience to God.
