Ask more than you argue. Most people have never been asked what they actually believe and why, and the question opens more doors than a speech closes. Tell your own story — what you were like, what happened, what changed — because nobody can refute your biography. Live consistently in front of them for years if need be. And answer questions with reasons and gentleness rather than volume; you are not required to win, only to be faithful.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 Peter 3:15
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Colossians 4:6
He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
