Test the message against Scripture yourself, the way the Bereans did, and watch four things the Bible watches: money, sex, power, and whether they can be questioned. A teacher who makes God's blessing conditional on a payment, who cannot show accounts, who cannot be corrected by anyone, or whose private life is protected by an inner circle, is described in the New Testament in very plain language. Fruit, over time, is the test Jesus gave.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Acts 17:11
