Do I have to go to church? Can I not just believe at home?

You can be a Christian alone the way you can be a soldier alone or a limb alone — technically alive, practically in trouble. The New Testament has no category for a solitary believer: the commands are almost all one another commands, and you cannot obey them by yourself. Church is not a building you attend, it is people you are responsible to and for. Find one that opens the Bible and start turning up.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Hebrews 10:25

And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

1 Corinthians 12:21

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Acts 2:42
